Vida Y Salud Health Systems, Inc., a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), is currently seeking an individual to fill the position of Family Medicine Physician.
Requirements: Provide preventive and primary high-quality comprehensive medical care and services for patients in a community health setting. Staff physician must be able to treat patients from a diversity of social and ethnic backgrounds and to work creatively as a member of a health-oriented team for the healing and betterment of the center's patients.
Education/Experience: Licensed in the State of Texas, as well as current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registrations for the purpose of writing prescriptions and current Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare providers. Fluent in Spanish is a plus.

Requirements: Perform integrated education on clinic patients referred with chronic illness and diseases such as Substance Use Disorders (SUD), Medical Health, Diabetes, Hypertension, Cholesterol, etc. so patients can learn to manage their medical condition and to promote healthier lifestyles. Assist Physicians and do procedures indicated by physicians within scope of LVN licensure.
Education/Experience: Must be licensed to practice vocational nursing in the state of Texas. Minimum experience in patient education, SUD, mental health, diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, health preventive measures, etc. Ability to communicate in oral/writing form information and ideas essential to duties, maintaining good working relationship with staff and medical personnel. Bilingual English and Spanish preferred. Must be computer literate. Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and current automobile insurance.

BF Peer Counselor
Vida Y Salud Health Systems, Inc. (VSHSI), a progressive Joint Commission Accredited Organization, is seeking one (1) individual that would best match a BF Peer Counselor position for the Carrizo Springs WIC office.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Breastfeeding Peer Counselor will distribute and provide breastfeeding information and promote breastfeeding to WIC clients. Teach classes or assist in teaching classes on the advantages of breastfeeding. Management of normal breastfeeding experiences, one on one counseling to pregnant and breastfeeding moms.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. Has successfully breastfed or expressed breastmilk for at least one baby
2. Has the ability to work outside of regular clinic hours and outside of the WIC clinic
3. Must be competent and confident in breastfeeding counseling
4. Tactful, courteous, and sensitive to patients’ needs
5. Able to follow instructions effectively
6. Bilingual (English/Spanish) not required but preferred
7. Employee will maintain current immunizations on self as prerequisite for employment
8. Must be computer literate
